About

Diverse businesses and fresh perspectives are invaluable in today's landscape, and we recognize the significant impact that diverse suppliers can have on our products, brands, and communities.

Our mission is clear: to cultivate lasting relationships, maximize procurement opportunities, and champion the growth of small business owners. By focusing on inclusive sourcing strategies, fair contracting processes, and specific category targets, we aim to expand our network and drive positive change within the industry.

Our goal is to address the unique challenges and opportunities facing Minority businesses in the clean energy sector. By uniting in this collaborative effort, we can break through barriers that have held progress back and build a more inclusive future.

Guest Speaker Vernice K. Lewis

Vernice K. Lewis is the Director of Diverse Business Empowerment for Exelon Corporation. In this role, Vernice annually provides strategic direction and oversight of more than $2B in direct business between Exelon and diversity-certified businesses.

Vernice has been a member of the Exelon family of companies since 1996, beginning her career as an intern at PECO. In 2002, Vernice joined Exelon Supply as a supplier diversity coordinator. Under the tutelage of Emmett Vaughn, she honed her craft as a leading supplier diversity practitioner.

Vernice is committed to ensuring the inclusion and growth of diverse suppliers in Exelon’s supply chain. In 2018 and 2019, Vernice was named Corporate Advocate of the Year by the Eastern Minority Supplier Development Council (EMSDC). She received the same honor from the Chicago Minority Supplier Development Council (CMSDC) in 2023.
