After a successful legislative session for renewable energy in Rhode Island, I had the pleasure of joining Ocean State public officials and clean energy business leaders at Newport Vineyards last week to see Governor Gina Raimondo sign into law a number of bills that will enact nation-leading renewable energy policies that will grow businesses and jobs , and help move the state's energy sector toward a clean, sustainable, reliable future.
Governor Raimondo, was joined by Office of Energy Resources Commissioner Carol Grant, Senate President Theresa Pavia Weed, as well as many other legislative leaders and representatives from NECEC member companies to celebrate the occasion.
"This legislation reflects forward-thinking energy policies that will help us meet our state energy goals," said Governor Raimondo in a press statement that day. "With its passage, we can continue to create jobs, connect Rhode Islanders with more cost-effective energy options, and reduce our carbon footprint."
