NECEC (Northeast Clean Energy Council and NECEC Institute) is thrilled to announce today the appointment of Jeremy McDiarmid as Vice President, Policy & Government Affairs. A proven clean energy champion, Jeremy has committed his career to growing the Northeast’s clean energy economy. He joins NECEC in early May to lead NECEC’s policy and government affairs team. Jeremy will oversee all of NECEC’s policy and regulatory work, coordinate with NECEC member companies and state partners, build relationships with key policymakers, and serve on NECEC’s Management Team. We are confident his expertise and experience will prove invaluable as we work towards achieving our mission of advancing the clean energy economy.
“At this significant point of growth in NECEC’s history, we could not be more excited to welcome Jeremy McDiarmid as Vice President, Policy & Government Affairs,” said NECEC President Peter Rothstein. “This position plays an outsized role in NECEC’s work to develop markets for clean energy solutions. Jeremy’s institutional knowledge of state-level policies and experience developing opportunities for clean energy will prove invaluable to our member companies. I look forward to seeing his contributions to NECEC, our business community, and the region’s clean energy industry.”
Jeremy comes to NECEC after serving as Commercial Business Development Manager at SunBug Solar. There, he gained first-hand experience influencing state policies that are beneficial to the economics of clean energy. Prior to joining SunBug, Jeremy advised Acadia Center on organizational and operational priorities, having previously spent six years there as a Staff Attorney and then Massachusetts Director. He also served three years as Senior Director for Innovation and Industry Support at the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center, where he led and executed programs to advance clean energy development within the Commonwealth.
“I have been deeply impressed by Jeremy’s previous work in the clean energy industry,” said Mitch Tyson, NECEC Board Chair. “His command of the substance and politics of clean energy is exemplary, and we are fortunate to welcome him to the team. There is no doubt in my mind that Jeremy will serve NECEC member companies well.”
Jeremy officially begins at NECEC on May 6. Members and sponsors will have the opportunity to meet him on May 16 at Massachusetts Clean Energy Day, NECEC’s annual lobby event at the State House.
