World Climate Ltd., in partnership with the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) and the Northeast Clean Energy Council (NECEC), today announced that Horizon18a global solutions event for the clean economy will be held in Boston from October 10 to 11, 2018. Horizon18 will bring together clean economy solutions providers, customers, innovators and investors to connect on projects to translate climate goals into solutions, innovations, new markets and partnerships.

“The Commonwealth is home to an innovative business community, world-class academic institutions, and a thriving clean energy sector that supports Massachusetts’ position as a national leader on climate action,” said Governor Charlie Baker. “Massachusetts looks forward to hosting national and international leaders to work on developing solutions and partnerships on climate change as part of Horizon18.”

The two-day event will leverage the valuable business leadership and innovation expertise of MassCEC and NECEC – two leading clean energy business organizations in the Northeast U.S with the international experience of World Climate Ltd, which has worked within stakeholder engagement and large-scale collaborations and business events for almost a decade.

"Boston is the ideal place to host those focused on solving tough, real-world challenges like climate change while building innovative solutions and creating new economic opportunities," said Boston Mayor Martin J. Walsh. "That's why we're leading the country in energy efficiency. We're eager to share and learn from others who can help us create a healthy, thriving future for Boston and others around the world."

“The Commonwealth has earned a reputation as a global hub for innovation, and we are looking forward to partnering with World Climate Ltd and NECEC to create a platform for the cleantech sector to explore business opportunities and pursue meaningful action on climate change," said MassCEC CEO Stephen Pike. “We are proud to support this global summit of leaders and innovators as we continue to build a clean energy economy.”

“NECEC is thrilled to partner on this pivotal event that will showcase the strength of the Northeast clean energy ecosystem to the world's leading clean energy business leaders and foster meaningful business relationships to advance clean economy solutions throughout many regions of the world," said NECEC President Peter Rothstein.

“World Climate Ltd. is delighted to announce the launch of Horizon18 as a new global platform for clean innovations, investments, solutions and partnerships’ said Jens Nielsen, CEO of World Climate Ltd. “Together with MassCEC and NECEC, we are striving to create a unique opportunity to bring together customers, solution providers and investors – and there’s nowhere better than Boston to connect clean innovations, projects and initiatives from around the globe”.

Horizon18 will be located at the Boston Exhibition and Convention Center and will include:

  • An international conference with keynotes, plenaries, and discussions;
  • A showcase of innovative solutions and initiatives in a large networking area;
