Cleantech Open is now accepting applications from innovative startups for its 2019 competition. Qualified candidates are emerging cleantech entrepreneurs with solutions to improve the environment, curb emissions, and improve energy efficiency. Applications are due by May 1.
Alumni startups have raised over $1.2 billion and created over 3,000 jobs, while the accelerator has trained and mentored more than 1,500 cleantech startups nationwide, including close to 400 in nine Northeast states since 2005.
“The 2018 Cleantech Open National Grand Prize Winner was Radical Plastics, a startup led by Yelena Kann and Kristin Taylor, two women from the Boston area,” said Beth Zonis, Northeast Regional Director for Cleantech Open. “Their solution addresses the problem of plastics in our environment by rendering conventional plastics biodegradable. This win is especially meaningful because the company founders and innovators are women.”
