The New England Clean Energy Council (NECEC) issued the following statement regarding the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection’s (DEEP) release of its final 2014 Integrated Resource Plan (IRP).
“Connecticut is leading the charge with this robust set of proposals to reduce demand for electricity and increase the deployment of renewable energy resources. Many of the renewable energy proposals in the IRP will lead to business opportunities and growth in the state’s and the region’s clean energy economy,” said NECEC President Peter Rothstein. “NECEC commends Commissioner Khlee and the team at DEEP for this comprehensive and forward-thinking assessment of Connecticut’s energy needs and opportunities. NECEC’s priority is to ensure a cleaner, cheaper and more reliable energy future for Connecticut and we stand ready to work with legislators and policymakers to implement the recommendations in the IRP.”
NECEC’s recently released 2015 Connecticut Policy Priorities outlines the clean energy industry’s legislative priorities to advance clean energy in Connecticut and includes a number of initiatives outlined in the CT IRP.
