NECEC (Northeast Clean Energy Council and the NECEC Institute) announced the election of two new board members: Cynthia Arcate, President and CEO of PowerOptions, and Stephen Pike, CEO of the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC). Arcate will serve on the board of the Northeast Clean Energy Council, while Pike joins the board of NECEC Institute, NECEC’s non-profit arm leading programs supporting Innovation & Entrepreneurship.
“NECEC is honored to welcome two highly respected clean energy leaders. As the CEO of PowerOptions, Cynthia Arcate has been a longtime thought leader and advocate for innovation in the energy industry,” said NECEC Board Chairman Mitch Tyson. “Stephen Pike has been an outstanding advocate for clean energy policy and industry growth in his tenure at MassCEC. We look forward to their contributions to NECEC's board and mission."
Arcate joined PowerOptions in 2009 as President and CEO, articulating the organization’s strategic vision and implementing its annual $160-200 million electricity and natural gas programs. She also serves as Vice-Chair of the New England Power Pool (NEPOOL). Prior to joining PowerOptions, Arcate was director of business development in New York and New England for Comverge, Inc. She brings over 25 years of government and private sector experience to the NECEC board.
Named permanent CEO of MassCEC last this month, Pike served as interim CEO for over a year prior. He joined MassCEC in 2013, leading the organization’s general corporate and public law matters and overseeing governmental affairs. Pike practiced corporate law for 15 years in Boston, mostly recently as a shareholder at Davis, Malm & D'Agostine, PC, representing a number of clean energy companies at various stages, sizes and technology focus.
